Stations of the Cross

I was recently asked to do an interpretation of the classic Stations of the Cross for the Good Friday service at Terra Nova Church. This is one of the most powerful services each year at Terra Nova, and it was an honor for me to contribute in a small way.

I usually prefer to work in intaglio for this type of project, but I decided to approach this differently to give it a more graphic feel. The medium I chose is linocut, which is basically a woodcut using linoleum blocks instead of wood. It took me a while to get use to the medium, and honestly I am looking forward to returning to intaglio. You can see the images here.

Sarah, I think you did amazing work on this collection of pieces… and I think it captured the essence of Good Friday. Thanks so much for your contributions!
